Agents of the Undertow:
They have always been my heroes.
Mavericks, outlaws, malcontents and rebels, each of them...
About
Jack McDaniel.net is my personal site. I began this site when my daughter was born and it was primarily meant to record my thoughts and observations about our lives and the world going on around
us.
There are two types of writing on the site. Agents of the Undertow is a collection of personal essays that I hope to collect for my daughter for when she is older. Some of them have appeared in various literary magazines - probably in a slightly different form. The journal contains my rants on religion and politics - and on the unfortunate crossing of the two.
I am a graphic designer, working in both the print and digital worlds. Impress Design - my professional creative outlet - is located in Parker, Colorado, but I have clients from as far away as Hong Kong and as close as next door.
My first design job was in 1977, a tri-fold brochure for a local church. Everything was hand-drawn. Technologies have changed. Now we can create more sophisticated campaigns, ads, brochures and other pieces right from our desktops. But the power of a well-crafted, simple message remains the same.
